Jake: Hey I’m Jake of Body by Jake here with your motivational minute. Today, we have a very special guest. Paige Rothermel is here with us and she is the Chief Growth Officer here are Blue Cross Blue Shield for Arizona. I am very psyched to welcome you. Paige, great to see you.
Paige: Thank you.
Jake: Now all this great stuff, you’re a big time executive, But you know what though We were talking a second ago, and you said” Ask me about my weekend.” So I’m gonna ask you about it – what did you d this weekend?
Paige: I had a great weekend! So, I have two sisters that are older than me, which really set me up every day, to be a better person. I actually had the opportunity to take them on a bike ride, through our neighborhood, and had a lot of fun. And it was the first time I’d seen them in a while and you know what? They all lost a lot more weight than me. I though you know what? Darn it! I’ve got to get myself back on that treadmill, I’ve got to get myself back on that daily routine.
Jake: Why do you think people get off the treadmill?
I think it’s about priority, right? You have to make it a priority. And I think that sometimes, there are so many things in your day that distract you from really doing what’s most important, which is taking care of yourself first.
So when you think about our opportunity every morning to make that choice about getting on the treadmill or not, or sleeping that extra ten minutes. I think you really have to think about those things that matter to you.
Jake: It’s small steps, right?
Paige: Small steps. And first of all, look outside. How beautiful the weather is here right now in Arizona. And now is the best time to get out and go for a walk, do something fun, take your dog out for a walk. He or she would probably appreciate that.
Jake: You’re favorite exercise?
Paige: Interestingly enough, my husband just bought one of those rowers. So I just have this new passion, this rowing machine that I’m on at least five times a week now.
Jake: What message would you leave for someone that is looking for that moment of motivation?
Paige: I’d say “Get fit, don’t quit!” Jake!
Jake: How about that!
“Remember stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit, it’s when things seem worst that you must not quit. Don’t quit! Have a great day!”
