Jake: Hey I’m Jake of Body by Jake with your nutrition tip of the day! I’m here with chef Steph, we’re gonna answer one of you questions. Here it is – chef Steph, you ready?
Chef Steph: I’m ready!
Jake: Is it okay to skip meals?
Chef Steph: No, it is not okay. I can’t say it enough right now. That’s when the worst things you can possibly happen. You should always have, I like to call it “desk food.” You have something tucked away when your meeting goes long, or you didn’t get it to the store.
You always have something to eat, to tide you over to your next major meal.
Because if you skip meals, then you’re gonna get in that habit, you’re gonna feel worse when you get home, then you’re gonna eat late, you’re gonna take longer to process that food, and the next day you’re gonna repeat that cycle and feel terrible.
So take the time to take care of yourself.
Jake: I like that idea of desk fuel, desk food. What do you recommend?
Chef Steph: So any anything like a protein bar that is low in sugar, high in protein. Fresh fruit is great as a snack in there as well. Nuts and seeds also keep well, especially when it’s warm and that makes a great portable food as well.
Jake: Beautiful, chef Steph! Outstanding!
