Jake: I’m Jake of Body by Jake with your nutrition tip of the day. I’m here with Chef Stef and we’re gonna answer your questions. This comes from Reina and she asked the question, when I’m out at a restaurant how can I make healthy choices?
Chef Steph: You know a lot of people struggle with this all the time . What you need to do is find out where are you going ahead of time, look at the menu online and then you can kind of choose and that’ll help you stay on your menu plan or your meal planning that works best with yourself and your body.
Always stick took something grilled, like grilled chicken, grilled meats. A fillet has less saturated fat and is very delicious and filling. Ask for veggies, any type of veggies that you want. Have a salad, have the dressing on the side and you might want to skip dessert and be mindful of having a cocktail.
Jake: What do you think about that how about having a cocktail or not?
Chef Steph: Well, it depends on what’s your calorie budget. Do you have room to have an extra cocktail, like a one hundred calorie beer or a mixed drink? Does your mixed drink have empty calories in it? Is it having some sugared simple syrup or sugar water in it to enhance that beverage? Wine? One glass of red wine, white wine, or beer is always a good choice when you’re looking to save some calories.
Jake: I love it chef Stef – we’ll have some fun!
