Jake: Hey, I’m Jake of Body by Jake with your nutrition tip of the day. I’m here with Dr. P – what do you say buddy? Good to see ya! Alright man! With your most frequently asked questions, and this from Barbara, “What’s the difference between carbs and sugar?“.
Dr. P: That’s a tough one! Nothing – they are the same! I get so many of my own patients at the office saying, “I’m off of sugar” but they are eating fruit, or their eating potatoes, or rice or yams.
Carbohydrates ARE sugar!
You have three macronutrients: fat, proteins, carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are sugar and it’s easy to separate them. Think meat with eyes: chicken, fish, steak, turkey, eggs. Nuts and seeds – a separate category – fat and protein. Those are all fat and proteins. If it doesn’t have a heartbeat, of it’s not breathing, if it can’t swim, if it’s not running in the woods – it’s all sugar after that.
Jake: Well done! Dr. P – right the point as always!
“Remember, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit. It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit! Don’t quit! Have a great day!”
